HBO gets down in the trenches this Thursday with a trailer for Task, an upcoming crime series from Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby. The new, hard-boiled preview stars Mark Ruffalo (Poor Things, Mickey 17, The Avengers) and Tom Pelphrey (Ozark, A Man in Full, Banshee), with Ruffalo playing an FBI agent, saddled with an inexperienced crew hoping to end a string of violent robberies in the suburbs of Philadelphia.

Pelphrey leads the gang of criminals trying to make ends meet in a world where the odds are against them, and the promise of always putting a hot meal on the family table remains in flux. The Task trailer, set to the song “Patience” by Guns N’ Roses, paints a grim picture of Philadelphia living, where resorting to theft is seemingly better than legitimate options to get ahead. Audiences can expect Task to take a hard look at societal issues plaguing everyday Americans, with some themes that could hit close to home. The series is scheduled to premiere in September on HBO and will stream on HBO Max.

Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Thuso Mbedu, Fabien Frankel, Alison Oliver, Raúl Castillo, Silvia Dionicio, Phoebe Fox, and Martha Plimpton join Mark Ruffalo and Tom Pelphrey as primary cast members. Mireille Enos has a recurring role.

Task comes to HBO thanks to an original idea by Brad Ingelsby, who is the writer and showrunner of the series. He executive produces with directors Jeremiah Zagar and Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Mark Roybal, and Paul Lee for Wiip, Ruffalo, David Crockett, and Ron Schmidt. Nicole Jordan-Webber and Jeremy Yaches of Public Record are co-executives.

Previously, Ingelsby stunned audiences with Mare of Easttown, starring Kate Winslet, Julianne Nicholson, Evan Peters, Angourie Rice, Jean Smart, and Cailee Spaeny. Set in the fictional suburb of Easttown, Philadelphia, Mare of Easttown focuses on police detective Marianne “Mare” Sheehan as she investigates the recent murder of a teenage mother while trying to keep her own life from falling apart. When Mare of Easttown hit HBO in 2021, the limited series reached Severance levels of buzz. You couldn’t surf social media without seeing people discuss the latest episode. I hope Task hits that same level of excitement. We’ll find out when the show comes to HBO later this year.

2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever did the usual Marvel thing and laid some ground for future projects that had been announced. Other than the sequel establishing Shuri as the new Black Panther, the Ryan Coogler film also introduced a college student who would be taking up the mantle of Tony Stark with her own brand of Iron armor. “Ironheart is such a great character in publishing,” said Coogler. “In 2016, Brian Michael Bendis created a character who would be a successor of sorts to the Iron Man legacy. In the comic book, Riri Williams and Tony Stark had a relationship—she was a student at MIT who came from an almost polar opposite background as Tony, but they came together in their passion to better society. Eventually, the character gets her own identity as Ironheart, and other writers like Eve Ewing picked up from there, taking Riri Williams to Chicago.”

The new MCU series is set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Ironheart pits technology against magic when Riri—determined to make her mark on the world—returns to her hometown of Chicago. Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins aka “The Hood” (Anthony Ramos).The series also stars Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam and Anji White. Chinaka Hodge is head writer; episodes are directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes. Executive producers include Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Zoie Nagelhout, Chinaka Hodge, Ryan Coogler, Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler. Star Dominique Thorne reveals she spoke with Robert Downey Jr. about their “iron” heroes and Iron Man Downey is rooting for her Ironheart. Thorne told Empire, “Robert Downey Jr. and I spoke just after we wrapped, and he shared some very lovely words about my journey. He told me how excited he was and that he’s rooting for it, too. I literally got two thumbs up. It’s really reassuring to know you’re not embarrassing Iron Man.” She went on to say that, while Riri is “dumpster-diving, whereas Tony Stark [was] this bajillionaire … what she’s able to accomplish is remarkable.“

The upcoming Netflix documentary, Cold Case: The Tylenol Murders, is sure to prey on those with medicine anxiety. The new trailer uncovers the story of the over-the-counter pain meds that were laced with cyanide and claimed the lives of random consumers. The new crime doc is set to stream on Netflix on May 26. The trailer has just been released.

The official synopsis reads,
“From directors Yotam Guendelman and Ari Pines (Shadow of Truth, Buried) and executive producer Joe Berlinger (Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey, Conversations with a Killer), Cold Case: The Tylenol Murders is a gripping three-part docuseries that revisits a chilling crime that shattered the nation’s trust in the safety of everyday brands. Believe it or not, saving the day is often a thankless job. However, more often than not, it’s business as usual with your acts of derring-do as a footnote in someone else’s story. Unfortunately for Christopher Smith and his rag-tag team, they’re about to find out just how hard it is to get the credit they deserve in today’s teaser trailer for Peacemaker Season 2!

Does anyone else feel they’ve aged 1000 years since Peacemaker‘s Season 1 debut in January 2022? After months of teasing the show’s return, our first look at Peacemaker and the 11th Street Kids is finally here, and it’s a hell of a ride. In the Peacemaker Season 2 teaser trailer, Chris blows an interview that could have given him notoriety. Still, the people behind the glass are assholes – including Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner – and Chris decides he’s better off sticking with his original crew. It’s a good thing he does because the team is about to face the consequences of their actions as Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo) looks to avenge his fallen son, Colonel Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), who Peacemaker killed in James Gunn‘s The Suicide Squad. Chris already regrets his actions that led to Rick’s death, but Rick Flag Sr. doesn’t know that, nor does he care.

Today’s teaser trailer also features a deep dive into Agent Emilia Harcourt’s (Jennifer Holland) rage issues, and inner demons. Tim Meadows gets a hilarious moment in the teaser as Langston Fleury, who delights in giving his team groan-worthy nicknames. In addition to Cena, Grillo, and Holland, Danielle Brooks returns as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase, Steve Agee as John Economos, and Dee Bradley Baker as Eagly. The final games begin. Netflix has released the official teaser trailer for Squid Game season 3, the final installment of the streaming service’s most popular series.

The teaser trailer opens with guards carrying a black coffin into the resting area of the games. As players approach the coffin, they open it to reveal Gi-hun instead, and a new game begins. “Picking up from Season 2’s devastating cliffhanger, Season 3 thrusts Gi-hun (Player 456) back into the brutal heart of the games, determined to dismantle them once and for all,” reads the official description. “Still haunted by the betrayal and loss of his closest ally, Jung-bae (Player 390), Gi-hun faces new perils — including the Front Man, who shockingly infiltrated their rebellion disguised as Player 001.“

The second season of Squid Game was nearly as popular as the first. Upon its release in December 2024, it broke records for most views for a show in its premiere week and entered the Most Popular Non-English TV list in just three days. It’s currently ranked at #2 with 192.6 million views, sitting behind the first season with 256.2 million views.

Although Squid Game season 3 will bring the series to a close, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk hasn’t ruled out a potential spinoff series. “When we were doing season one, I was saying there was never going to be another season,” Hwang told THR in January 2025. “And so if the time comes, and it just so happens that I’m able to come up with a character or a different story, then maybe there might be a comeback. But I’m thinking more along the lines of a spinoff.“

He continued, “One of the ideas I’m tossing around is what happened between season one and two. There’s a three-year gap. So, for example, what was the Front Man doing during those three years? What was the Recruiter doing? When I have some downtime, I like to just toss some ideas around and go wild with my imagination. So I guess we can be open to anything.” There have also been rumblings that David Fincher is developing an English-language Squid Game series, but nothing has been confirmed. Squid Game season 3 will premiere on Netflix on June 27th.

With the release of the Official Trailer today, Prime Video announced Season 5 of the global phenomenon The Chosen will premiere on June 15, 2025 in the U.S. Featuring eight episodes, The Chosen: Last Supper (Season 5) will debut in three parts over three weeks, with the first two episodes premiering on June 15, followed by three episodes on June 22 and the last three episodes on June 29. In addition to the U.S., the new season will be available on Prime Video in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Sub-Saharan Africa, UK, and Latin America in July. The Chosen Seasons 1 through 4 are now streaming on Prime Video. 

The Chosen: Last Supper season 5 made its theatrical debut on March 28 in the U.S. and on April 11 internationally to incredible box office success, grossing nearly $60 million and counting. Later this month, The Chosen: Last Supper Parts 2 (episodes 3-5) and 3 (episodes 6-8) will be released in theatres in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Duster is a high-octane drama series starring Josh Holloway and Rachel Hilson that J.J. Abrams co-created with LaToya Morgan and Max has now given us a look at the show with its first trailer. You can check out the Duster trailer in the embed above.

Set in 1972, Duster follows the “first Black female FBI agent (Hilson) as she heads to the Southwest and recruits a gutsy getaway driver (Holloway) in a bold effort to take down a growing crime syndicate (led by Keith David).” The last TV series which Abrams co-created was Undercovers, all the way back in 2010. He’s been involved in other shows since then as an executive producer, but this is his first time writing a series since the release of Undercovers.

“I had this image of a phone in the middle of the desert and a car driving up, and a guy getting on the phone to find out where he was meant to go next,” Abrams told THR of the origins of the series. “It implied some kind of crazy intrigue, and I didn’t know what the answer was, but I knew it was compelling. LaToya and I started talking about who this guy might be, and I always knew there would be an FBI agent who showed up. But it wasn’t until we started talking about what her story is, that we started building this story towards something that felt twisty and turn-y and ultimately really satisfying. That became the goal: How do we tell a crazy story that actually ends up being driven towards one point and where we’re actually headed towards something that feels inevitable? Where we would have the vibe of it, the spirit of it, the sense of humor and the sense of absurdity?“

LaToya Morgan added, “The thing that was most exciting for me was that we could do something that was a throwback to things that are not really on television anymore. You could have this fun pastiche of action and humor. It was really a chance to jump into something with both feet.“

As you might expect from an Abrams project, Duster isn’t as straightforward as initially presented. “There are a lot of things that you don’t expect,” Abrams explained. “What I love about the show, and what I think LaToya and I had the most fun with, is you never quite know, when you open a door, what kind of unexpected criminal mind is going to be behind it. The most satisfying thing for me was seeing how so many these elements — some of which seem crazy and out there — end up actually serving a real narrative purpose. Also, every episode feels like it’s ending on a fun cliffhanger vibe that you get from serialized comics.“

Duster has been a long time coming. It was originally announced in 2020 along with two other shows Abrams was involved with: Overlook and Justice League: Dark. Both of those shows were ultimately scrapped, but Duster survived. The show is expected to premiere on Max on May 15th.

Hulu has just released the trailer for season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers. The series stars Nicole Kidman, Henry Golding, Lena Olin, Annie Murphy, Christine Baranski, Lucas Englander, King Princess, Murray Bartlett, Dolly de Leon, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Mark Strong and Aras Aydin. The show hails from David E. Kelley, Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories, Nicole Kidman’s Blossom Films, and FIFTH SEASON. FIFTH SEASON is handling distribution on the series as well. The series is executive produced by David E. After A Family Affair, The Perfect Couple, Babygirl, Lioness, Holland and this, it just seems like Nicole Kidman doesn’t sleep. Movie goers who see films at AMC theaters regularly are often treated to her famous pre-show movie promo as well. Kidman can recently been seen in Holland, which finds Kidman’s character, Nancy Vandergroot, living a cookie-cutter lifestyle as a school teacher in Holland, Michigan, where quaint interactions, dancing, and frivolity reign. However, it is not as it seems after Nancy uncovers a dark secret that threatens the safety of her routine lifestyle.

Our EIC Chris Bumbray found his Sundance screening of Holland to be a daunting task as he rated it low and said in his review, “Maybe the best way to describe Holland is as a Fargo clone, but done badly. It’s a serious misfire for Mimi Cave, who tries to give the film some visual flair but is unable to hit the darkly comic vibe the film aspires to. It’s the kind of movie that may seem clever on the page, but as a movie, it’s a serious chore to sit through.”

In space, no one can hear you scream. But on Earth? We’re going to find out, as Alien: Earth is landing on Hulu/Disney+ this year. And to amp up the excitement, we have a new teaser and key art.

Here is the synopsis of Alien: Earth: “When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat in FX’s highly anticipated TV series “Alien: Earth” from creator Noah Hawley…“Alien: Earth” is set in 2120 when five corporations – Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold – wield the power of nations, and proprietary advancements in technology provide the promise of a new tomorrow.”

The studio has dropped a few teasers and clips here and there, but there really isn’t a whole lot of extensive promotion going on. Considering the Alien series is on the upswing after the reception of last year’s Alien: Romulus, it’s surprising that this show — which marks the first live-action one in the franchise — isn’t getting more hype. And while it’s great to see clips like this one (dubbed “Crate”), what we really need is a full trailer. A release date couldn’t hurt, either…

Regardless of how we view the marketing for Alien: Earth, I’m still excited to check out the show, and, really, all Alien fans will likely have an interest, especially if they want to see the franchise progress. That it’s set just a couple of years before the events of the first Alien movie might lay the foundation for some cool easter eggs.

The first season of Alien: Earth will consist of eight episodes, all of which are written exclusively or partly by series creator Noah Hawley (Fargo, Bones). No directors have been formally announced at this time but considering Hawley has only directed six episodes of Fargo throughout its run, we might expect he’ll take on an episode or two and hand off duties to others. The cast includes Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, Samuel Blenkin, and more.

Before she takes flight in James Gunn’s Superman, Milly Alcock is about to learn a lesson about the dangers of infatuation in the trailer for the Netflix miniseries Sirens. The upcoming dramedy finds Alcock’s Simone having an awkward family reunion with her sister Devon (Meghann Fahy). When Devon shows unexpectedly arrives at Simone’s high-stress job as the right-hand of socialite Michaela Kell (Julianne Moore), the duo comes to emotional blows as Devon pulls the curtain back on Simone’s misguided devotion to her employer.

Spearheaded by Emmy-nominated writer and showrunner Molly Smith Metzler (Maid) and executive produced by Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap, Sirens is an adaptation of Metzler’s play Elemeno Pea. Told throughout a single weekend, Sirens has the following logline: “Devon (Fahy) thinks her sister Simone (Alcock) has a really creepy relationship with her new boss, the enigmatic socialite Michaela Kell (Moore). Michaela’s cult-ish life of luxury is like a drug to Simone, and Devon has decided it’s time for an intervention. When Devon tracks her sister down to say WTF, she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be.”

Fahy’s Devon DeWitt is in a downward spiral and feels trapped in her hometown. She’s funny, charming, and protective, especially when her sister Simone is concerned. Simone (Alcock) is witty, intelligent, and competitive. She loves working for her new boss, Michaela Kell (Moore), and wants nothing more than to get a taste of her employer’s high life. As Michaela and Simone grow closer, Devon tries to drive a wedge between them before Simone loses herself in a life of luxury, shady deals, and soul-sucking philanthropy.

In Netflix’s Sirens trailer, the series’ all-star cast navigates a cult-like setting with Julianne Moore tugging at the strings. In addition to Milly Alcock, Meghann Fahy, and Julianne Moore, Kevin Bacon and Glenn Howerton star as Peter Kell and Ethan Corbin II, respectively.

The Sandman was developed for Netflix by Neil Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and Allan Heinberg, all of whom serve as executive producers on the show. Heinberg is also the showrunner. Every episode of season 2 is being directed by Jamie Childs. The writers on the show also include Ameni Rozsa, Alex Newman-Wise, Austin Guzman, Shadi Petosky, Jim Campolongo, Vanessa Benton, Jay Franklin, Greg Goetz and Marina Marlens. Netflix today debuted the official trailer for THE FOUR SEASONS, produced by Universal Television, a cozy new comedy series from co-creators Tina Fey, Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield. Starring Marco Calvani, Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, Fey, Will Forte, Erika Henningsen and Kerri Kenney-Silver.

THE FOUR SEASONS premieres Thursday, May 1 on Netflix.

The Four Seasons is a retread of the 1981 Universal movie of the same name. Alan Alda directed and wrote the 1981 version, which stars Alda, Carol Burnett, Len Cariou, Sandy Dennis, Rita Moreno, Jack Westen, Bess Armstrong, and Elizabeth Alda. In 1981’s The Four Seasons, three couples vacation together every season. After one couple divorces, feelings of betrayal and more spawn criticisms of one another, but the things that keep them together are more potent than those that might tear them apart.

Today Disney+ debuted an exciting new trailer and poster for Lucasfilm’s Emmy-nominated thriller Andor Season 2, which returns for its long-awaited conclusion on April 22.  Get ready for the new season and check out the Andor content available on YouTube:  a special look at Andor Season 2, a 14-minute recap of Season One, and the “Andor Season 1 with Tony Gilroy” event.

The second season of Andor takes place as the horizon of war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. Andor star Diego Luna has said we’ll finally find out how Cassian became buddies with the former Imperial droid. “From an audience perspective, they’ve probably made their own story about how Cassian and K-2 got to work together,” Luna said. “It tells you a lot about Cassian that his best friend is a droid. And a droid he had to reprogramme. But how did that actually happen and who was he before? Those questions are going to be answered.“

Today, Disney+ released a new trailer for season two of Doctor Who. In the trailer, audiences see the Doctor and his new companion Belinda Chandra as they adventure across time and space, from a futuristic 51st century to the 803rd Interstellar Song Contest to becoming animated characters, a first for the Doctor Who series. Season two premieres Saturday, April 12 (12:00 a.m. PDT / 3:00 a.m. EDT) on Disney+, where available, and exclusively on the BBC and BBC iPlayer in the UK. New episodes from the eight-part season will premiere weekly.

The new season stars Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor, Varada Sethu as Belinda Chandra and Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday. Emmy Award winner Alan Cumming (The Traitors) will guest star in the second episode as Mr Ring-a-Ding, a happy, funny, singalong cartoon, who lives in Sunny Town with his friend Sunshine Sally. However, in 1952, after years of repeats in cinemas across the land, Mr Ring-a-Ding suddenly looks beyond the screen and sees the real world outside — and the consequences are terrifying. Cumming is returning to the Whoniverse after previously playing King James I in the 2018 episode “The Witchfinders.” Showrunner, executive producer and writer Russell T Davies said, “Only Alan Cumming could give a runaway cartoon so much wit, malice, danger and fun. He makes the whole universe of Doctor Who wilder and madder than ever, and it’s an absolute honour to welcome him on board the TARDIS.”

Duster is a high-octane drama series starring Josh Holloway and Rachel Hilson that J.J. Abrams co-created with LaToya Morgan and Max has now given us a look at the show with its first trailer. You can check out the Duster trailer in the embed above.

Set in 1972, Duster follows the “first Black female FBI agent (Hilson) as she heads to the Southwest and recruits a gutsy getaway driver (Holloway) in a bold effort to take down a growing crime syndicate (led by Keith David).” The last TV series which Abrams co-created was Undercovers, all the way back in 2010. He’s been involved in other shows since then as an executive producer, but this is his first time writing a series since the release of Undercovers.

“I had this image of a phone in the middle of the desert and a car driving up, and a guy getting on the phone to find out where he was meant to go next,” Abrams told THR of the origins of the series. “It implied some kind of crazy intrigue, and I didn’t know what the answer was, but I knew it was compelling. LaToya and I started talking about who this guy might be, and I always knew there would be an FBI agent who showed up. But it wasn’t until we started talking about what her story is, that we started building this story towards something that felt twisty and turn-y and ultimately really satisfying. That became the goal: How do we tell a crazy story that actually ends up being driven towards one point and where we’re actually headed towards something that feels inevitable? Where we would have the vibe of it, the spirit of it, the sense of humor and the sense of absurdity?“

LaToya Morgan added, “The thing that was most exciting for me was that we could do something that was a throwback to things that are not really on television anymore. You could have this fun pastiche of action and humor. It was really a chance to jump into something with both feet.“

As you might expect from an Abrams project, Duster isn’t as straightforward as initially presented. “There are a lot of things that you don’t expect,” Abrams explained. “What I love about the show, and what I think LaToya and I had the most fun with, is you never quite know, when you open a door, what kind of unexpected criminal mind is going to be behind it. The most satisfying thing for me was seeing how so many these elements — some of which seem crazy and out there — end up actually serving a real narrative purpose. Also, every episode feels like it’s ending on a fun cliffhanger vibe that you get from serialized comics.“

Duster has been a long time coming. It was originally announced in 2020 along with two other shows Abrams was involved with: Overlook and Justice League: Dark. Both of those shows were ultimately scrapped, but Duster survived. The show doesn’t have an official release date yet, but it is expected to premiere on Max later this year.

A trailer for a new dramedy from FX has just premiered. Michelle Williams deals with her difficult journey to fight cancer by enlisting her friend, played by Jenny Slate, to find her a man. A man who can give her something she’s never experienced — an orgasm. The hunt for the right man ensues as Williams and Slate hit online dating, trying out a variety of guys from different sexually active age ranges and love-making styles.

FX’s Dying for Sex is inspired by the story of Molly Kochan, originally shared on a Wondery podcast created with her best friend, Nikki Boyer. After Molly (Michelle Williams) receives a diagnosis of Stage IV metastatic breast cancer, she decides to leave her husband, Steve (Jay Duplass) and begins to explore the full breadth and complexity of her sexual desires for the first time in her life. She gets the courage and support to go on this adventure from her best friend Nikki (Jenny Slate), who stays by her side until the very end. Also joining the cast are Rob Delaney, Kelvin Yu, David Rasche, Esco Jouléy and Sissy Spacek.

FX’s Dying for Sex is written and co-created by Kim Rosenstock & Elizabeth Meriwether, who also serve as executive producers along with Katherine Pope, Kathy Ciric, Wondery’s Hernan Lopez, Jen Sargent, Marshall Lewy and Aaron Hart, Michelle Williams, Nikki Boyer, Shannon Murphy and Leslye Headland. Dying for Sex is produced by 20th Television.

While the themes are sure to get heavy in this show, Willams is also eager for something more positive with a sequel to The Greatest Showman, in which she starred with Hugh Jackman. In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Michelle Williams said, “Those songs come on the radio and I’m singing them. I hear it in the grocery store and I want to dance to it.” Of course, Williams is referring to tracks like “The Greatest Show” and the Golden Globe-winning, Oscar-nominated “This Is Me”. Adding to this, Williams called for a sequel, saying, “The Greatest Showman sequel, part two, come on!…That movie makes you feel good. People love it. Kids love it. Grown-ups love it. I love it. More please.”

Jacob Elordi has a harrowing experience as a prisoner-of-war in the new trailer for Prime Video’s new series. The Narrow Road to the Deep North is a new five-episode Australian drama TV series that premieres on April 18 on Prime Video in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. The show was filmed in New South Wales, Australia and is an adaptation of Richard Flanagan’s Booker Prize winner. Elordi leads the series as Dorrigo Evans, and Ciarán Hinds portrays the same character as an older man looking back on his experiences.

According to Deadline, “The series, which was the highest-profile TV show at the Berlinale and has sold around the world, charts the life of Evans through his passionate love affair with Amy Mulvaney (Odessa Young), his time held captive in a POW camp and his later years spent as a revered surgeon and reluctant war hero. […] The show acts as a character study of a complex man impacted by war.”

Justin Kurzel (The Order) directs all the episodes of The Narrow Road to the Deep North. Shaun Grant adapts the show from Booker Prize-winning source material. The show also stars Olivia DeJonge (Elvis), Heather Mitchell (Love Me, Upright), Show Kasamatsu (Tokyo Vice), Thomas Weatherall (Heartbreak High), Simon Baker (Limbo, Breath) and Essie Davis (Apple Cider Vinegar).

The series is produced by Curio Pictures and will be distributed internationally by Sony Pictures Television. Stay tuned for news of its premiere in the United States, as there has yet to be a distributor for its streaming stateside. Jo Porter and Rachel Gardner from Curio Pictures are on board as executive producers. Flanagan, Grant and Kurzel are also on the project as executive producers, with Alexandra Taussig serving as producer.

Meanwhile, Elordi has also been in talks to join the cast of Ridley Scott’s pandemic thriller The Dog Stars. The Dog Stars hails from 20th Century Studios and is based on the 2012 novel by Peter Heller (Burn, The River, The Painter, The Last Ranger). Initially, Scott was reteaming with Gladiator II star Paul Mescal for The Dog Stars, but scheduling conflicts with his part in Sam Mendes’ Beatles anthology kept him from participating. Sources say Mescal plays Paul McCartney in Mendes’ upcoming film, making him essential to the project.

Elordi would play Hig in The Dog Stars, a civilian pilot living a lonely life on an abandoned Colorado airbase with his dog and a hard-as-nails ex-marine. When a band of scavengers called The Reapers invades their space, Hig and his compatriots must prepare for battle.

A seventh season of the anthology series Black Mirror will be making its way to the Netflix streaming service this year, and it has been previously revealed that Black Mirror season 7 will consist of six episodes, one of which will be a sequel to the popular season 4 episode USS Callister. The streamer has now revealed new images from the season, along with a trailer. It has also been announced that the new episodes will premiere on April 10.

Created and written by Charlie Brooker, Black Mirror is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia leading to an unforgettable – and sometimes unsettling – conclusion. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a Black Mirror reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us.

We have a short synopsis for the USS Callister sequel: “Robert Daly is dead, but for the crew of the USS Callister, their problems are just beginning.“ Directed by Toby Haynes from a script written by William Bridges and Brooker, the season 4 USS Callister episode told the story of a gaming company’s CTO. He is the mastermind behind a popular multiplayer game and has a private copy of it, which he uses to torment his colleagues who fail to show him respect in the office. The episode had a running time of 76 minutes and starred Jesse Plemons, Cristin Milioti, Billy Magnussen, Jimmi Simpson, Michaela Coel, Milanka Brooks, Osy Ikhile, Paul G. Raymond, Hammed Animashaun, Tom Mulheron, and Aaron Paul.

Today, Apple TV+ debuted the trailer for its highly anticipated, compelling drama series, Your Friends & Neighbors, from creator Jonathan Tropper and starring and executive produced by Jon Hamm. Already renewed for a second season, the nine-episode first season of Your Friends & Neighbors will make its global debut on Apple TV+ with two episodes on Friday, April 11, followed by one new episode weekly through Friday, May 30.

After being fired in disgrace, Andrew “Coop” Cooper (Hamm), a hedge fund manager still grappling with his recent divorce, resorts to stealing from the homes of his neighbors in the exceedingly affluent Westmont Village, only to discover that the secrets and affairs hidden behind those wealthy facades might be more dangerous than he ever imagined.

Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabel Gravitt and Donovan Colan star alongside Hamm.

Hailing from Apple Studios and produced by Tropper Ink, the new series, which landed an early season two renewal, is created by best-selling author Jonathan Tropper, who serves as showrunner, director and executive producer under his overall deal with Apple TV+. Hamm executive produces alongside Connie Tavel and Craig Gillespie. Gillespie also directs episodes 101-102. Additional episodes are directed by Stephanie Laing, Greg Yaitanes and Tropper.

The upcoming season of Johnson’s smash-hit crime series premieres at PaleyFest in LA on Saturday, March 29, at 2 PT at the Dolby Theatre. Rian Johnson, Natasha Lyonne, and new guest stars will be there to introduce the first episode and hold an in-depth conversation about the show’s celebrated return.

Prepare to re-enter the mind of Netflix’s popular obsessive romantic. The new trailer for You season 5 has dropped just ahead of the April 24 premiere date. The intensity and stakes are certainly ratcheted up in this final season as Joe Goldberg now has a lot more attention and heat bearing down on him.

Series star Penn Badgley is joined in the cast of You season 5 by season 4’s Charlotte Ritchie, who plays heiress Kate Galvin, who ended up in a relationship with Joe at the end of season 4. Also in this new and final season are Madeline Brewer of The Handmaid’s Tale, who is taking on a series regular role in the new batch of episodes, and so do Anna Camp of the Pitch Perfect films and Griffin Matthews of The Flight Attendant. Camp will actually be playing two different characters, as she has been cast as both Raegan and Maddie Lockwood, twin sisters-in-law to Joe Goldberg. Baby Reindeer‘s Nava Mau will show up in the guest star role of Detective Marquez.

We don’t have a full description of Mau’s Detective Marquez, but we have descriptions for the other characters. The new character being played by Brewer is Bronte, an enigmatic and free-spirited playwright who comes to work for Joe Goldberg at his bookstore. As the two connect over literature and loss, she stokes in him a nostalgia for his former self, causing him to question everything his life has become. Matthews’ character is Teddy Lockwood, the “snarky yet loyal brother-in-law of Joe Goldberg. A confidante who was never fully accepted by the Lockwood family, Teddy brings authenticity and empathy to a family for whom such things are a foreign concept.“ And Camp’s characters: “Raegan is the cunning, cutthroat CFO of the Lockwood Corp who has her eyes on the throne and will crush any adversary… be them family or not. Maddie, on the other hand, presents as the unserious twin, a thrice-divorced socialite whose job is ‘vaguely PR.’ But make no mistake, a master manipulator lies underneath Maddie’s frivolous façade.“

While executive producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter said that You was always intended to be a “five season journey”, showrunner Sera Gamble decided not to guide the journey to its conclusion. Although she remains attached as an executive producer, she has passed showrunner duties over to fellow executive producers Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo. Thankfully, Foley and Lo are no strangers to You. They have been working on the series since season 1 and season 2, respectively.

Based on a series of novels by Caroline Kepnes (take a look at her work HERE), You was developed by Gamble and Berlanti. The show centers on Joe Goldberg, a man who will do just about anything when love is at stake. In the epic fifth and final season, Joe Goldberg returns to New York to enjoy his happily ever after… until his perfect life is threatened by the ghosts of his past and his own dark desires.

Just under two years after the season one finale of The Last of Us comes the trailer for season two. Partly set to a version of Nirvana’s “You Know You’re Right”, The Last of Us trailer offers a lot of surprises for fans not just of the first season but also the video game.

As we know, season two of The Last of Us picks up a handful of years after the events of season one. But of more interest is the introduction of Abby, who is introduced in the sequel game The Last of Us Part II and is a crucial part of the story – so much so that we won’t even consider spoiling how significant of a role she has. Still, knowing she is in this season might give fans an idea of how the season may end…She is portrayed by Kaitlyn Dever, who is one of many new additions to the cast. Joining Dever will be a wealth of talented actors, including Joe Pantoliano as Eugene, Jeffrey Wright as Isaac Dixon (a role he voiced in the video game), Catherine O’Hara as Joel’s therapist, and Alanna Ubach, Ben Ahlers and Hettienne Park, all as characters unique to the show.

There has been some slight concern from fans because season two of The Last of Us has fewer episodes than the first, with the sophomore outing having seven compared to the first’s nine. However, showrunner Craig Mazin has stood firm that there will be plenty for fans to chew on. “You can have a light dinner or you can go to a 12-course French restaurant. We have seven episodes. They are high-calorie, dense episodes. If you consider action and drama and scope to be the things that create an epic nature, each one of these episodes packs quite a wallop. You will not be bored.“

Season two of The Last of Us will premiere on April 13th, with the finale set for May 25th.

A rebellion is underway in a galaxy far, far away, and a special look at Tony Gilroy’s Andor Season 2 is here to encourage us to join the revolution. On Wednesday, Lucasfilm and Disney+ shared a special look and brand-new poster for the anticipated second season of Andor. Gilroy’s interstellar espionage drama is arguably the best Star Wars series on Disney+, and its long-awaited conclusion begins on April 22.

“The special look, available now on Disney+ and YouTube, offers a glimpse at the making of Season 2 of the compelling series, in which the characters and their relationships will intensify as the horizon of war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance,” says today’s press release for Andor Season 2. “Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas will become profound.”

“Rife with political intrigue, danger, tension, and high stakes, the series is a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which portrayed a heroic band of rebels who steal the plans to the Empire’s weapon of mass destruction: The Death Star, setting the stage for the events of the original 1977 film. Andor sets the clock back five years from the events of Rogue One to tell the story of the film’s hero, Cassian Andor, and his transformation from a disinterested, cynical nobody into a rebel hero on his way to an epic destiny.” 

The final season will unfold over 12 episodes, divided into four chapters of three episodes each. The first chapter will premiere on April 22, with subsequent chapters debuting each week.  

Andor Season 2 stars Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu, Elizabeth Dulau, Alan Tudyk, with Ben Mendelsohn and Forest Whitaker. The series was created by Tony Gilroy, who also serves as an executive producer along with Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna, Luke Hull and John Gilroy. Tony Gilroy wrote the first three episodes, with Beau Willimon writing episodes 4-6, Dan Gilroy penning episodes 7-9 and Tom Bissell putting pen to paper for episodes 10-12. The directors for the series are Ariel Kleiman (Eps. 1-6), Janus Metz (Eps. 7-9), and Alonso Ruizpalacios (Eps. 10-12).

Today’s special look at Andor Season 2 takes us behind the scenes of the show’s massive production, highlighting the elaborate sets, costumes, sweeping plot, and trajectory toward the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. “Rebellious movements are happening spontaneously all over the galaxy,” Gilroy says in the promo. “How those come together is the stuff of our story.”

Hot damn! The second season of Andor is looking mighty fine! I love the show’s overall aesthetic. It’s a bit sterile, but I enjoy the clean, minimalist approach to the visuals. There’s so much happening in every frame of this special look, and I can feel my need for more Andor increasing with every second. Let’s f**king go!
